Lee Ong & Kandiah may be a medium sized law practise but it regards the provision of personalized, competent and quality legal services as the hallmark of the practice of law. In this regard, the firm's manageable size allows for a better fostering of personal relationships both within the firm (be it among the partners, lawyers and staff alike) and outside the firm (i.e in its dealings with clients and fellow lawyers).

Towards this end, the firm regularly holds in-house courses, training and workshops for both lawyers and staff; like the on-going Mandarin Language course (for both staff and lawyers) and the monthly CPD (Continuing Professional Development)( for lawyers) which comprises of lunch-time discussions/tutorials/updates by each practice area on current developments, trends or particular demands in their respective fields. Social get-together events and outings for both lawyers and staff (currently held on a quarterly basis) also facilitate better interaction, cooperation and esprit de corp within the firm.

As such, the firm is constantly in search of individuals (whether as lawyers or staff) who take pride in their work and are dedicated to excel in their respective endeavours, in the following work-categories:-

Lawyers
Applicants for the position of Legal Assistants/Associates must already have been called to the Malaysian Bar and are required to submit their curriculum vitae (by e-mail or by hand) together with an indication as to his/her preference of a practice area. If short-listed, such applicants may be subjected to two (2) interviews by the partners of the firm. The firm offers an attractive remuneration package based on a standard Salary & Increment scale depending on the entry level of the Applicant.

Pupillage
Applicants intending to read in chambers must have already met all requirements needed to be a "qualified person" under the Legal Profession Act 1956 and are required to submit their curriculum vitae (by e-mail or by hand). If short-listed, such applicants will be subjected to one (1) interview by the partners of the firm. Currently, the firm's Pupillage Allowance is RM 700 per mensem (before short-call) and RM 1000 per mensem (after short-call).

Attachment
The firm provides attachment arrangements for a maximum period of three (3) months per academic year. Applicants applying for attachment must already be pursuing a course of study in law and are required to submit a cover letter stating their current course of study, the institution where the course is being undertaken and any references/referees he/she may have. The applicant may also be subjected to one (1) interview and if offered, will be paid a monthly Attachment Allowance, the quantum of which will be decided on a case to case basis.

Support-Staff
Applications in this category should be for the position of Secretary, Accounts/Management clerks/personnel, Process-Servers, Despatch personnel and Conveyancing/Real Estate clerks/assistants. The applicant is required to submit his/her curriculum vitae / record of past employment and will be subjected to such interview(s) or practical proficiency tests as may be necessary to assess the applicant(s) skills, proficiency and aptitude for the position applied for.
