Administrative & Constitutional Law Practice

This practice handles all areas of public and administrative law including representations before administrative and statutory bodies, conduct of disciplinary and/or investigative hearings, challenging decisions of such bodies by way of prerogative writs (eg. Certiorari, Mandamus & Prohibition) and judicial review as well as the conduct of civil proceedings for particular relief.

We have been involved in advising professional disciplinary bodies established pursuant to statute on their convening and procedures as well as representing aggrieved parties in lodging and pursuing complaints with the relevant disciplinary bodies constituted by statute, for instance those pertaining to professional misconduct under the Medical Act 1971 and Accountants Act 1967.

Some of the constitutional law aspects of this practice includes actions for declaratory relief for ultra vires exercises of power on the part of statutory bodies, matters involving infringement of personal and proprietary constitutional rights under the Federal Constitution as well as land matters pertaining to compulsory acquisition under the Land Acquisition Act 1960.
